Every institute/organization has a group of faculty or staff. This group works towards betterment of the institute for which they are working. Here our focus is towards the educators in various fields (it include professors, teachers from different schools, colleges or institutes).

Faculty development program helps the faculty for their individual growth at personal and professional levels. This program works towards improving skills of faculty which in turns helps in growth of organization to which the faculty belongs. There is always a scope of learning new things and improving your skills so this program works for any level of experienced/freshers which belong to small or large institutes.

How to develop quality faculty development program:

1. Be aware of what faculty members expect as a part of organization and understand their roles.
2. Respect their needs and develop trust with the faculty. FDP can be successful in a trustworthy and values environment.
3. Provide new challenges with respect to abilities of faculty which can help them in exploring themselves.
4. Always keep individual’s success goals in mind while working on organizational goals.
5. Plan assessment to create a rewarding spirit. It helps every individual to track their growth and scope of improvements.
6. Get timely feedback and be ready to accumulate changes in your program for better results.
7. Nothing is static. Everything needs variety, so does FDP. Do not stick to one successful program. Include new ideas time to time.
8. Be careful while choosing FDP members. A selection committee can be formed to evaluate the nominees.

Different types of faculty development programs: There are multiple ways by which faculty development programs square measure. Some of them are:

1. Organize interactive workshops or seminars where people can participate in group discussions.
2. Individual consultancies can be hired. These consultancies have strategic plans to conduct different programs.
3. Learning from each other program. It is also known as peer coaching.
4. Publishing faculty development materials on web. Individuals can refer to these materials by themselves and get benefit out of it.
5. Facilitating monthly publications.
6. Sessions conducted by experts in curriculum development. The audience for these sessions can be a mix of freshers or experienced.

Tips to help improving your faculty development program:

1. Provide freedom of innovation.
2. Anonymous evaluation of FDP members by the students and formal/informal feedback of students by members.
3. Get full administration support.
4. Identify the problems that need resolution.
