Trucks, trucks....too many trucks.

All the large trucks out on Chicago's highways are causing a major problem. Traffic is getting worse and bad drivers are to blame.

Trucks are causing my commute to increase by at least 10 percent in my estimate. While I have no scientific data to back this up, trucks are always cutting me off. Plus, once slowed to a stop in traffic, they take forever to get back up to speed. This causes all the cars behind it to have to slow even more, sometimes coming to a stop because of the laborious truck.

I see all sorts of trucks out there; delivery trucks, freezer trucks, livestock trucks, etc. Most of which are not obeying the rules of the road.

Have you ever been stuck behind 2 trucks, running right next to each other on a two lane highway......not able to pass! This sends me into a silent rage. I've never actually gone off or had a bout of road rage, but it's getting close. Get out of my way you stupid truck.

Now I see all sorts of moving trucks, as if Chicago movers, weren't annoying enough with the double parking and couches in stairwells, now the hog the road.

In a perfect world were I make all the decisions,the road would be widened and there would be a trucks only lane. Plus we would need to build a high speed rail system to get a good portion of these trucks off the road.

Of course all this focus on the truckers does leave me open to the commuter traffic dilemma. Am I also a cause of my own frustration. Most of the accidents I see are cause by commuters. And the people I see swerve while talking on their cell phone is starting to worry me. There are so many bad drivers out there, we also need a new national policy on driving. More training is need. I don't think anyone in the US know the 'left lane is for passing' rule. If your in the left lane, you have to be passing someone, otherwise get back over to the right. Now a days to pass anyone you have t swerve between 3 lanes....dangerous!

Something has to be done about this! Sounds like I just need to move closer to work.
