The Quran is the book of guidance for the entire humanity. The Quran is the fourth and the final divine book by Allah almighty. Although it confirms the revelation of the three divine books before them, however still so many people refuse to believe in the Quran.
The scope of the Quran is very wide. It has many topics, which should be taught to the Muslims. Even the awareness among the non-Muslims should also be created on these topics. The prophet hood of Muhammad (s.a.w) is a very important topic of the Quran.
The prophet hood of Muhammad (s.a.w) is not of a regional or racial nature. He is the last prophet for all the people and all the worlds. It is depicted clearly in the Quran. Allah almighty says in the Quran,
“Blessed be He Who sent down the Criterion (of right and wrong) that He may be a Warner to the worlds.’(Surah-al-Furqan (25), ayah 1)
The same concept about the universality of the prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) has been described in another verse of the Quran. Allah almighty says in the Quran,
‘And we have not sent you except as a giver of glad tidings and a Warner to all mankind, but most of men know not.’ (Surah-Saba’ (34), ayah 28)
There was a time when people used to wonder and argue that how a person can be a prophet for the entire humanity. They used to argue that the world is too big and the distances are too much for this to be true. However, in just 1400 years, the world has become a global village and it is not hard to believe now that Muhammad (s.a.w) is the prophet for the entire world and for all the worlds. Allah almighty says in the Quran,
‘Say (o Muhammad): "O mankind! Surely, I am sent to you as a messenger of Allah - to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He); it is He Who gives life and causes death. So believe In Allah and His messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write; who believes in Allah and His Words [(this Qur’an) the Torah and the Gospel and also Allah’s Word: "Be!" - and he was i.e. Jesus-son of Mary], and follow Him so that you may be guided."’(Surah-al-A’raaf (7), ayah 158)
The Quran does not only stresses the on the importance of the universality of the prophet hood of Muhammad (s.a.w) but also that Muhammad (s.a.w) is the last prophet. The religion of Islam is complete now and there is no need for any other prophet now. Allah almighty says in the Quran,
‘Muhammad is not the father of any man among you, but he is the Messenger of Allah, and the last of the Prophets, And Allah is Ever All-Aware of everything.’(Surah-al-Ahzaab (33), ayah 40)
The very fact that the Quran is revealed to Muhammad (s.a.w) is the proof that there is no requirement for any prophet now. Allah almighty says in the Quran,
‘And verily, it is an honorable respected Book. Falsehood cannot come to it from before it or behind (it was) sent down by the All-wise, Worthy of all praise (Allah)’ (Surah-Fussilat (41), ayahs 41-42).
