* The geographical area of Suzhou comprises of 10% cultivated fields, 30% hills, and the rest is covered by canals.

Although traditionally Suzhou was not one of the major stops on most China tours, lately it has made its presence felt across the globe due to its picturesque landscape and is fast becoming one of the "must see" cities in China.
