Here now are some of the many other reasons why people are seeking other religions, other than mainline trinitarian Christianity. The occult appeals to people’s hunger for feelings of spirituality, strength, freedom, and power (so they think). The occult offers something for people to believe in yet not restrain them like Christianity. They want no absolutes or belief in good or evil. People have become disillusioned with Christianity and church and don’t want to have to worry hell.

Why is the occult so popular today instead of mainline trinitarian Christianity? Whenever people behold the moving of the Holy Spirit in their lives, they live righteously and uprightly. Most Christians do not hold or have the eternal spirit of God within them. Therefore they are like dry trees or foolish virgins without oil (which is represented symbolically by this element). So how does one obtain it? There two ways. When Jesus was baptized He received the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. (Matthew 3:12-16) When a person is baptized symbolically into the death, burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, then they will receive the Holy Ghost and salvation by manifested belief through His grace. (Romans 6:1-5: Ephesians 2:8-10; James 2:15-26) Also, the Holy Spirit is manifested in or by unknown tongues. (Acts 2:1-47; 1 Corinthians 14:1-39) If people believe in God they will always see the accompanying signs (with power) or fruits of the Holy Spirit (Mark 16:15-17; Galatians 5:16-26) God will walk and talk with every single Christian who loves Him in truth and sincerity. (John 8:30-32; 14:6; Proverbs 18:24; Colossians 2:6; 1 John 1:7) Here now are some of the many other reasons why people are seeking other religions.
1) The occult appeals to people’s hunger for feelings of spirituality, strength, freedom, and power (so they think).
2) The occult offers something for people to believe in yet not restrain them like Christianity. They want no absolutes or belief in good or evil.

4) People feel that the occult offers answers to problems from a supernatural source.
5) People find a sense of belonging in the occult.
6) People want an edge in life, or something that gives them a sense of power and control over others, the future, and/or evil spirits.
7) People are curious about the unseen.
8) The unknown and forbidden seem exciting and can become an easy temptation through curiosity.
9) People’s friends are into the occult.
10) People have a desire to control others.
11) People need a way to use supernatural power to get revenge on friends who have hurt them.
12) People can cater their deities (gods) to their own desires and develop their own self-styled religions.
In conclusion, witchcraft and the occult offer it's followers the ability to set things right on their own without having to rely on a God who they think does not seem to revelant to them. "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." (Proverbs 14:12)
