It is a compact SUV with a car-like unibody construction, an increased ride height with an all wheel drive or AWD which makes it a crossover. It is also considered one of the fastest crossovers with its V6 engine available in some models. It has a third row seat which allows it to seat a total of 7 passengers. The 2011 RAV4 will have an electronic brake override system which was first introduced in the 2010 model.
Safety features include side curtain airbags that protect the head in case of a side collision. Other standard features are air conditioning, remote keyless entry, power mirrors, tilt/telescoping steering wheel and height-adjustable driver’s seat.The price range of the 2011 Toyota RAV4 is between $22,800 and $29,100.
The 2011 Toyota RAV4 now has an upgraded grille, tail lights and alloy wheels. It is still available in three models: the base model, sport model and the limited edition model. The base model has steel wheels and black door handles. The higher models have alloy wheels and door handles that are the same color as the body of the car. The limited edition model has a grille insert that is made of chrome. The sport model has optional run-flat tires so there is no longer any need to place a spare tire in the tailgate of the RAV4. The tailgate of the RAV4 opens like a car door instead of swinging it up like in most cars of its type.
The 2011 RAV4 is equipped with a modern technology called brake-override system where the engine power is automatically reduced when the driver steps on the brake and accelerator pedals at the same time. The upcoming RAV4 model is available in 2.5-liter four cylinder engine with 19 horsepower output and 172 pound-feet of torque.This type of engine is only available in the four-speed automatic transmission. The other type of engine available for the RAV4 is a V6 which is capable of 268 horsepower output and 246 pound-feet of torque.
It comes in five-speed automatic transmission.The base model of the new RAV4 has a new set of optional features called the Base Plus Extra Value Package. These options include the optional installation of a sliding moon roof, 17-inch alloy wheels, door handles with same color as the body,daytime running lights, tinted rear privacy window and roof rails. In the exterior of the new RAV4, optional features are the addition of steering wheel audio control, upgrade in interior fabric and a cargo tonneau cover. Another optional feature is a 6-CD player with satellite radio plus a JBL audio system with built-in Bluetooth connectivity.
The basic features of the 2011 RAV4 are anti-lock brakes, traction control system and anti-skid stability control.
