Just as with any other country in the world, a Japan tour offers a plethora of great adventures and memories for anyone taking part in the adventure. There’s something magical about visiting Japan however, which makes it a particularly appealing destination for anyone taking the journey to the Far East. Check out some of the fantastic places to visit when you take a Japan tour:
Mount Fuji: Standing 12,377 feet high, Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan and has become perhaps the most iconic image in all the country. Photographed from all angles in every season, Mount Fuji offers a collection of hiking trails and facilities that makes this mountain a tremendous place to visit for anyone taking a tour of Japan.
Ginza: Ginza, Tokyo, has become an unofficial shrine to Japan’s industry, technology and material culture as it epitomizes Tokyo and Japan as a whole. Full of neon shopping centers, a vast complex of buildings and Japan’s Head of State, the Emperor of Japan and his administrative apparatus, Ginza is bustling and a great place to visit for anyone taking a Japan tour.
Himeji Castle: One of twelve castles in its original condition in Japan, Himeji Castle is known as the “White Heron Castle”. One of the three most famous castles in Japan and its most-visited, Himeji Castle was used as a location for a 007 film, You Only Live Twice, and is surrounded by pine and cherry trees. The castle was originally built between 1333 and 1346 and expanded between 1601 and 1608.
Bomb Dome, Hiroshima: The Bomb Dome in Hiroshima was located almost directly underneath “Little Boy”, the atomic bomb dropped on the city on August 6, 1945. The remains of the Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall has since become known as the Bomb Dome, which has remained largely intact despite being only 150 meters from where the bomb detonated.
Kamakura: Known by many as the Great Buddha statue, this iconic statue of Buddha stands 13.35 meters tall (44 feet) tall and weighs 93 tons and is referenced in stories as far back as 1252.
Japan’s history and culture are unmatched by any other country in the world. With so many places to see, one sightseeing tour of Japan might not be enough to engage oneself in all that the country has to offer. However, any tour of Japan should feature the aforementioned landmarks to soak up as much as the country has to offer with AsiaImpressions!
