Tata Aria to give a tough fight to Innova and Xylo

The newly launched Tata Aria by Tata Motors is the very first crossover made by an Indian auto company.

With the launch of this new model Aria, the company will directly be challenging Mahindra Xylo and also, the Toyota Innova. This new model from Tata belongs to the constantly progressing luxury MPV segment. Now one of the most important challenge for Aria will be direct competition with Toyota Innova, the model which presently dominates this segment. Another model with which new Tata Aria will have to compete is Mahindra Xylo. Now let us compare the features of all these three vehicles as to have an idea about which one will emerge as an ultimate winner.

The new Tata Aria which is available in the price range of Rs 13-16 lakh looks quite impressive at the very first glance along with its finish levels. The balanced exterior as well as the masculine look are sure to attract many people. The all new Aria has got wheels of 17’’. The model a four wheel drive also. Some other features of this new Tata model include the Electronic Stability Programme, Integrated Navigation System, airbags (6), a 2.2 litre DiCOR engine which provides 140 bhp along with 320 Nm torque. On the other hand, Toyota Innova was introduced in 2005 and it had the challenge of replacing the impressive and dominating Qualis. But Innova was successful in doing so and that too in its own style. Innova soon became a heart-winner of taxi operators and it also got good opinion from families also. Mahindra Xylo which was introduced in January 2009 with the aim of sharing a good sector in the popular MPV segment. Now at the time of Xylo, the segment was dominated by Toyota Innova. Xylo got most of the popularity because of its huge space. It still remains the most spacious MPV.

The new Tata Aria is the first vehicle in the MPV segment to have all wheel disc brakes along with 6 airbags. The model incorporates a seating system which is quite flexible. Aria features a big space too. A dual-mass flywheel has also been provided in this model which surely reduces some disturbing sounds or the harshness levels. Soon the market will witness three variants of Aria including the Pleasure, Prestige and Pride. Though the new Aria packs many new and impressive features but it is also a fact that Toyota Innova is a tough competitor.

As far as the interior features of Tata Aria are concerned, they include steering mounted phone along with the impressive audio controls. The cruise control has also been provided in this model. The automatic climate control provided in Aria is a helpful and interesting feature. Another interior features include the ABS, EBD, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, the leather upholstery, reverse camera, driver information system and the unique first-time all-wheels disc brakes. Now coming back to the interior of Toyota Innova, well the 8-seater space is sure to impress the customers. The vehicle incorporates a two litre petrol and 2.5 litre diesel engine. As far as Mahindra Xylo is concerned in terms of its interiors, the MPV is equipped with a 2.5 litre engine which offers 114 ps. It comes with a 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive system. Since the time of its launch, Xylo has received good response from the Indian customers. In a nut-shell, the Xylo impresses you with its comfort level.
