Tata Aria is a huge leap for the Tata Company. Not just because of the good looks but with a big 4.7 metre length and five doors the Tata Aria is one hell of an improvisation from the Tata.

The looks are right up there and with equal distribution of weight. This makes for an eye catchy view, premium class and the trademark Tata quality. Every inch seems to be taken care of with 17 inch wheels, good stability, nice road stance and the clean back.

On the inside the Tata Aria is simply big with space all over it. The overall looks are top notch even bettering the Safari but it is not so sleek, handy and stylish with the dashboard like the Innova. The passengers are game for comfort with ample leg, head and shoulder space. The rear row might feel a bit cramped unlike the Sumo Grande.

The high-end model has got everything. It is fitted with GPS, bell, whistles, Bluetooth, USB, reverse camera, parking sensors, airbags for all, climate control, cruise control and Electronic stability program along with the traction control system. The big Indian families will have no reason to crib about the Tata Aria due its complete functional expertise like the 7 cubbyholes and flexible seats at the rear. The slim steering though leaves a lot left to be desired, especially with the easy chances of dabbling with audio mounted on it. This can get a bit irritating to say the least.

The engine is a 2.2 litre DiCOR make like that of the Safari with a 140 bhp. The refinement though is the separating factor. You can hardly hear anything when you are on the go and it just seems go on smoothly even when you rev it up. The lag does make its presence felt a bit but then can easily be silenced with a downshift. Initially the low speed response is missing unlike the Innova but it has much more power shifts.

The drive is the least complaining part. It just eats up any disturbances on the terrain. The straight ahead position though is on the obscure side. Body roll seems to be negligible factor with sturdy wheel system making its presence felt on the road. For a better mileage you also have the 4X2 mode.
The Aria in short is the newly improved Toyota Innova. The ride control may not be as strong as the cousin but the Aria is fit in itself with a powerful engine, great options and good looks. The Aria starts with a price of Rs.12.91 lakh and goes up to Rs.15.5 lakh for the ultimate comfort.

End of the day is the Tata Aria worth your cheque. Tata Aria is actually a first in the Indian cars because of the total package it has to offer. All said and done there are few niggles which has to and can be sorted out. The Tata Aria has shown the way for a new breed of cars in the luxury segment that can be cost efficient as well. The Tata Aria is good at riding and boasts of features that only the premium class vehicles adorned. Surely, this one from Tata is a more car, per car.
