Our course is a Cert in on-line marketing taught in the college, so I think the sentence highlighted below needs to changed to promote our on-line marketing course instead of encouraging students to study marketing on-line.
For most of us it is difficult to imagine life without social networks. A recent study points out that more than three quarters of UK residents have a profile on at least one social platform and 52% feel anxious if they cannot check their Facebook page. These figures point to the great marketing power of social networks. ( it would be better to use an irish stat)

In order to set up a successful social media marketing strategy, a brand needs to have a team of specialists to design one that would bring return on investments (ROI). There are various marketing courses that can teach people these skills. However, marketing courses online are arguably the better choice as they give marketers the option to access the social network and the course at the same time and experience the matter first-hand.

The main benefits of social media marketing are that it can reach a vast number of users simultaneously, yet it is easy to target specific audiences, according to their interests. At the same time, social marketing is very cost-effective, as it offers relatively high ROI, provided that an effective strategy is implemented. In addition, brands are given the chance to communicate directly with consumers, get immediate feedback and establish a good relationship with them by providing exclusive content, discounts and special offers to loyal customers online. Last, but not least, information spreads very fast on Facebook or Twitter, so brands can rely on their fans or followers to become their messengers.

Establishing a prominent social network presence is not an easy task. First of all, it is advisable for a brand to get familiar with the netiquette of the certain social platform and all the functions available. Then, a brand can create its own community where it can promote it’s products and services. The business can interact with consumers and provide engaging and intriguing content to hold consumer attention.

Managing a brand’s social media marketing is a continuous job, so people who deal with it might find it useful to attend a Project Management course, which can help them develop skills for planning, monitoring progress and analysis. Many companies feel that even though they advertise on social media, they still cannot adequately measure their performance and this prevents them from improvement. Just like any other type of marketing, social media advertising requires creativity, flexibility and plenty of hard work but the results can justify it all.
