Skoda the wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen is all set to foray the the Indian car market with its new Skoda Citigo by 2012. Skoda Citigo is likely to be a low cost alternative to Volkswagen Up!It is being said that even Volkswagen Up! is expected to arrive in 2012. Further is believed to go up to Rs 5 lakh. With Skoda Citigo, the Czech Republic giant is foraying in a small car segment and don't want to leave any stone unturned to secure its place in the segment. Skoda Citigo review reveals that it will be a fuel efficient car with less maintenance and operating cost. Skoda Citigo is a city car which is expected to be zippy on roads as its name implies. From outside the car is blessed with a elegant and classy looks. Skoda Citigo is dressed with the finned grille and lots of chrome on it coupled with peculiar xenon headlamps. The logo of Skoda incorporate at the middle add beauty to it. From front the car looks very similar with Skoda’s recently unveiled MissionL concept. Skoda will launch its hatchback in both three and five door version. On looking the car from inside we found its very spacious and agile for the city roads. Skoda Citigo will come with a seating arrangement of four passengers with ample amount of boot space. On the part of technicalities Skoda Citigo is powered by a 1 litre petrol engine which is tuned in two different states. On the one hand Skoda Citigo will come with an option of two 3 cylinder petrol engines that generates the power of 60 bhp and torque of 95 Nm. On the other hand the same engine will churn out the power of 75 bhp and torque of 95 Nm in five door hatchback. Being powered with a petrol engine, the Skoda Citigo is speculated to offer the mileage of 11 kmpl in the city that will step up to 15.4 kmpl on the highways. Since Skoda Citigo is a small car it is being said that it will come mated with a 5 speed manual transmission gearbox.
Skoda Citigo will be a better option for the Indian car buyers as it's a value for money car that offer all the standard values of Skoda in a compact package.
