Today people there are people who try to walk or run away from God. The truth is that you can't run from an omnipresent God. So why attempt to do the impossible? One reason is found in John 3:20. "For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." They are willfully sinning. The reason why many people run from God is because they love their sin more than God. Another reason why people run from God is that they feel some bitterness.

Today people there are some people who try to walk or run away from God.

Another reason why people run from God is that they feel some bitterness towards God because of a tragedy, death or a bad experience that has transpired in their lives. Men sometimes unfairly place God on trial, when it is sin which is to blame for our miseries, and not God. God is always good. "O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy" (Psalm 107:1-2).

It's tragic that there are people who are running from a loving and good God that cares about us (1 Peter 5:7). The problem with most people is that they judge God based on the present circumstances, failing to realize that we were placed upon this earth to be tested by God. The Lord created people with a free will, and because many do not subject themselves to His good and perfect will, sin abounds. This sin is the cause of all the suffering in the universe. Clearly God could of created robots or clones simply to worship Him instinctively. But everybody knows that forced love is not a real one.

A man named Jonah tried to run from God. "Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord." God had told Jonah to go preach to the city of Nineveh, but Jonah disobeyed. The Assyrians were reputed as a brutal people, known for torture, whose warriors often sawed their victims into pieces. That's why Jonah was reluctant to go to Nineveh, the capital of the Assyrian empire. Still, God never tells us to do something that we are unable to do. The truth was that Jonah feared man more than God. "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matthew 10:28) "The fear of man brings a snare: but whoever puts his trust in the Lord shall be safe." (Proverbs 29:25) We ought to fear God more than sinful, mortal, men.

God prepared a whale to swallow Jonah, and over the course of three days, Jonah learned the hard way that God is to be feared more than mankind. He then went to Nineveh to preach the word to it's inhabitants. They repented or turned away from their sins, saving themselves from certain judgment and punishment. They trusted in the word sent to them by faith (Hebrews 11:1-5).

When we turn away from God, we always take the wrong path and the most difficult way possible. "Good understanding gives favor: but the way of transgressors is hard." (Proverbs 13:5) Jesus said, "Come to me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke on you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest to your souls. " (Matthew 11:28-29)

You may reject Jesus, but you will never escape Him. He is the Cornerstone of the entire Kingdom of God. He is the key to your eternity, whether in Heaven or Hell."Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus," Colossians 3:17. (That includes baptism.) "This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:11-12)

God is calling you back wherever you are. The story of the Prodigal son is a good illustration of the forgiveness that God gives to those who return or come to Him. "He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea." (Micah 7:19)

He removed every barrier that stood between you and Him, and nailed them to the cross. "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross." (Colossians 2:14) There's no condemnation left, and nobody but you can separate yourself from God. "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifies. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." (Romans 8:1; 31-34)

One of the most famous verses of all time tells us how much God loves us all. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:16-18) He's unwilling that any should perish, but all instead would come to knowledge and understanding of the truth of His word. Why not return or come unto Him today? You have everything to gain and nothing to lose.
