High petrol prices and high interest rates on auto loans surely effect the sales of petrol cars in India. Now-a-days most of the car buyers are moving towards diesel cars. The continuous rise in demand of diesel and other fuel options like LPG is effecting the sales of petrol models of the car in the country's auto industry. The low running cost of diesel cars because of their better mileage is the main reason behind this distraction. Even the country's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Udyog Limited India suffers from this crisis as most of its cars come with petrol motors. Now the company plans to manufacture diesel engines in order to improve its market sales in India. In step forward it launch its swift with diesel engine and Soon going to launch its one of the most popular hatchback WagonR in diesel option also.

Many of the globally renowned auto makers are making their debuts in India with their flagship models like Nissan made its come back with Sunny, Ford has launched its sedan car Ford Fiesta Classic with Automatic transmissions, Renault has launched its Fluence in sedan car segment. Nissan Sunny has been the most anticipated car in Indian auto industry. Initially company had launch Sunny in three models and all three models are blessed with petrol engine. Car got great response from the car buyers and recorded a high number of sales. But due to rise in petrol prices this happiness does not last longer, as company plans to introduce Nissan Sunny models in diesel version also. The three variants of the sedan car are Sunny XE, Sunny XL and XV. It is expected that the diesel car will cost Rs. 80,000 more then the out going models hence it is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 6.50 lakhs to Rs. 8.50 lakhs.

The Sunny diesel will be powered by the 1.5-litre diesel that will churn out a maximum 85 bhp of power. With diesel motor it is likely to offer an impressive mileage of 20 Kmpl which makes it better than that of Toyota Etios and Maruti's SX4. Not just Sunny sedan, Maruti Swift Dzire also coming up with a diesel powerplant. It is expected that car will be less then 4 meters of length and will offer an excellent mileage of 22.9 Kmpl. The exact launch date of both sedans is yet to be announced by the respective companies, but both the cars will be showcased in the upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2012.
