Both of these Apostles brought the Gospel to the known world in their day. Paul wrote, "For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles." (Galatians 2:8) It was first given to the Jews, and then the Gentiles. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16) All the world heard the Gospel then.

We read from Acts 12:25 onward that Luke's literacy attention turns from Peter to Paul, and from the predominantly Jewish-Christian church to the Gentile-Christian church. Paul's status as a true (God appointed) Apostle is highlighted by the parallels between his ministry and Peter's.

Peter healed a man lame from birth. (Acts 3:1-11) Paul healed a man lame from his birth also. (Acts 14:8-18)

Peter healed people by his shadow. (Acts 3:15-16) Paul healed people by handkerchiefs or aprons. (Acts 19:11-12)

Peter's success was a cause for Jewish jealousy. Paul's success is a cause for Jewish jealousy as well. (Acts 13:15)

Peter raised Tabitha (Dorcas) to life. (Acts 9:36-41) Paul raised up Eutychus to life. (Acts 20:9-12)

Peter was jailed and freed miraculously by God. (Acts 12:3-19) Paul was imprisoned and freed miraculously by God. (Acts 16:25-34)

Both received power from God to perform miracles, see visions and Minister unto others. Peter was the first to introduce the truth to the Jews at Jerusalem, with the other Apostles assisting. (Acts 2:37-42) He later preached to the Samaritans with Philip. (Acts 8:12-17) The were the part Jews who intermingled with the Gentiles. Finally, God appointed Peter to teach and preach unto the Gentiles. (Acts 10:1-48)

Paul was a later convert to Christ. (Acts 9:18; 22:16) He preached first to the Jews at Damascus. (Acts 9:28) Then at Jerusalem and Antioch. Which were at times a mixed audience of both Jews and Gentiles. (Acts 9:22; 11:25-26) Thereafter he was sent mainly to the Gentiles. (Acts 13:2-4) He would often first go to a synagogue and preach with a companion, after that (because of jealousy) they would then go speak unto the Gentiles.
