NYC, San Francisco Among the Most Photographed Locations on Earth

Recently, a team of researchers at Cornell went through 35 million (!) pictures taken by more than 300,000 photographers on Flickr in order to determine the most photographed spots on the planet. Check out the top five below to see if you’ve had a chance to take a package tour to one of these spots to take some images of your own.
In 1827, Joseph Nicephore Niepce created history when he took the world’s first photographic image. His photographs (a term that is derived from the Greek words “photos” (light) and “graphein” (to draw)) were the basis by which photographs today are taken. And because of that fateful day, photographs have become and remained an integral part of our lives. Imagine taking a vacation without having images to look back on and remember all the times you enjoyed when taking your sightseeing tour. Like you, millions of people can’t imagine taking a tour without snapping a few photos.
