Toyota Innova is one of them. Now Maruti India is also launching a multipurpose car.This brand is Maruti R3. The main competitor of Maruti R3 will be Toyota Innova.Maruti India has already spoken about Maruti R3 in Auto Expo in held in January 2010 but unveiled the price and features. But now it has unveiled the pricewhich can be around 7 lakhs. The launch date is still not unveiled. No official announcement has been made for the launch of Maruti R3. But as per our sources,its launch is expected by 2012 on Indian roads. Maruti R3 will be launched with low price in order to compete with Toyota Innova.It is expected that the will be 6 lakhs. Maruti R3 specifications includes 1.3 litres K Series motor and 1.3 litres multijet engine with VGT.The interiors of R3 MPV is same as the the interiors of Maruti Swift. The new Maruti R3 will come with four variants. These are Maruti R3 VXi, Maruti R3 VDi,Maruti R3 ZXi, Maruti R3 ZDi. Maruti R3 will be based on Maruti Ritz's platform.</p> <p>It will be launched with petrol and diesel engine. It will be seven-seater with five manual gearbox. The seven-seater car will be good for a large family.The car will have three rows of seats which is same as Maruti 5x4. The other specifications of R3 includes airbags, parking sensors, fog lamps, anti-lock braking system, power steering, power windows, central locking, remote boot operation, rear wiper, sun roofs and button controls on steering. The car engine will generate a power of 73 BHP.Toyota Innova also knows about the new Maruti R3 and expects that the launch would compete greatly with Toyota Innova.So Toyota India has decided to increase the promotion and sales of Toyota Innova. Toyota India has also planned to increase the production of Toyota Innova from 4000 units to4800 units.
