Pure water is essential not only for individual health but also for public health. Whether its drinking water or some of it contained in a closed or open place, if it is not pure in nature then it might lead to various water borne diseases. On a massive basis, government treats or purifies water with the help of large water treatment plants. These plants are equipped with all the essential equipments, tools and machinery that is necessary to remove all kinds of impurities from the water. However, the choice of it depends upon the source of water i.e. from where it has been taken and the amount of impurities comprised by it.
Families are most concerned about the purity and hygiene of water not only at their homes but also when they drink it at an outside place. Most of us have RO or water purifying systems at our homes as the hygiene or purity portion of water coming in taps cannot be trusted blindly. The same tap water is used by different restaurants, hotels, etc. where there is hardly any chance if a water purifying system could have been used. Even the packaged drinking water cannot be trusted in this regard as you are not sure which water treatment devices they might be using.
Thus, having some information regarding domestic or small scale water treatment devices may help you in the purpose. There are basically three types of filters available in the market. These include distillation, reverse osmosis and granular filtration also known as carbon block. Chlorinators are also quite widely used for domestic as well as industrial processes of water filtration. All these filtration types differ from each other in terms of costs, speed, effectiveness and efficiency. The reverse osmosis filtration method in this case proves out to be effective in relation to cost efficiency as it works with around 18 to 24 cents for every gallon of water.
The distillation method uses around 20 to 26 cents for purifying every gallon of water which stands cheaper in comparison to drinking packaged or branded water. However, the carbon block or granular filtration method is one of the cheapest in this category as it uses only 10 cents for purifying one gallon of water. This filtration method is also capable of providing around 30 gallons of absolutely pure water in just an hour due to which it is regarded as one of the best water purifying techniques available in the market nowadays.
