We know all that Moses prophesied (of Jesus being) a prophet raised up by God like him in Deuteronomy 18:15-18. Here are twelve ways (and some have counted fifty ones) that Moses and the Master were alike. Both spent their infant years in Egypt, sheltered from those who wished to exterminate them. Both fasted forty days. Both had baptisms, one unto Moses and one into Jesus Christ. Both men died on a hill.
We know all that Moses prophesied (of Jesus being) a prophet raised up by God like him in Deuteronomy 18:15-18. Peter said that indeed Jesus had fulfilled this prophecy made by God through His servant Moses, Acts 3:20-22. Luke said that Jesus was a mighty prophet in word and in deed, in Luke 24:19. Jesus could be called a Prince of Prophets. Jesus spoke to Moses face to face just as did God had done. Moses was faithful like Christ in all things of God. Yet Christ being the builder had more honor than the house itself. He was God manifested in the flesh, in John 1:1-2, 14. Nevertheless, here now are twelve ways (and some have counted fifty ones) that Moses and the Master were alike.

1) Both spent their infant years in Egypt, sheltered from those who wished to exterminate them.

2) Both men grew to become great leaders, teachers and prophets.

3) Both fasted forty days.

4) Both men delivered the law from a mountain. Moses from Mount Sinai, Jesus during the Sermon of the Mount.

5) Both performed outstanding miracles before eyewitnesses.

6) Both men had power over demons.

7) Both had baptisms, one unto Moses and one into Jesus Christ (John the Baptiser baptized unto Christ, but the plan of God was made complete after Christ's resurrection). Speaking of waters, Moses parted the Red Sea and Jesus calmed the Sea of Galilee.

8) Both men had their faces shine with the glory of God. Moses on Mount Sinai, Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration.

9) Even as Moses lifted up the brazen serpent to heal his people, Jesus was lifted up on a cross at Calvary to heal His people from their sin.

10) Both men died on a hill.

11) Neither of their bodies remained in a tomb.

12) Just like Moses sent twelve to seek, spy and conqueror the new land, Jesus sent twelve men (the apostles) to preach the Gospel to all the earth in His name. Moses appointed seventy rulers over Israel, and Christ sent out the seventy to teach the nation.

Even the Talmud reported that, "The Messiah must be the greatest of future prophets, as being nearest in spirit to our master Moses."

To sum it up: Jesus like Moses was a Jew, a prophet, a leader, an anointed one, a mediator between God and man. The difference being though is that while Moses was a mere man, Christ was God enfleshed, the hope of glory.
