Hyundai i10 seems to have successfully taken off from where the Santro left off. The i10 still continues to be a darling of the auto sales with even the new Hyundai i10 is going aggressive and sporty than its older version. The price ranges from Rs 3,54,972* - Rs 5,99,455* (ex-showroom Delhi)
Engine: Hyundai i10 comes in two versions. The Hyundai i10 has nine variants out of which its two variants (D-lite and Era) are equipped with 1.1L, 1086cc, IRDE (Intelligent Responsive Drive Engine) petrol engine for power and mileage. These two variants of give a mileage around 14kmpl in city while 19.8kmpl on highway. On the other hand, its five variants (Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta W Sunroof) have the 1.2L, 1197 Kappa petrol engine with five speed manual transmission giving a mileage 15.4kmpl in urban areas while on highway it gives 19.2kmpl. While the Magna AT and Asta AT has auto gear with the mileage around 15.4kmpl in city and 20.3kmpl on highway. The new one’s come in 1.1 iRDE2 and 1.2 Kappa2 petrol engines. The 1.1 iRDE2, 4 cylinder, powers up to 69 Ps at 5500 rpm with a torque of 10.1 kgm at 4500 rpm. The 1.2 Kappa2, 4 cylinder, DOHC with VTVT mill powers up to 80 Ps at 6000 rpm with a torque of 11.4 kgm at 4000 rpm. The new Hyundai i10 VTVT technology ensures higher power, performance and fuel efficiency; as per reports the mileage of the vehicle is 20.36 kmpl that is ARAI certified.
Exteriors: The Hyundai i10 headlamps stretch towards the rear of the front end and intentionally the i10 looks a demon. The chrome grille tops the overall looks. The plastic mould on the front and the rear is a sight to watch out for. The rear of it seems to have lost itself while the tail-gate is ok. The new Hyundai i10 has the VTVT logo and Kappa2 monogram which is surely a new move. The rear side now comes with new bumper and reverse parking sensors. Wheels are fully encompassed in the 1.2 Kappa2 variants. Hyundai i10 is a five seater with good space. it is available in ten vibrant colors
Interiors: The dual color scheme, the plastics and knobs have a racy feel. The gear shift is at the centre console while the steering has an attached audio and bluetooth. The dash meters are digital with cool blue illumination on the dash board. The floor comes with a power outlet, chrome finish door handles and gear knob for the AT and Asta variants. There is no dearth of space to carry things. The room space is decent but there can be trouble with heavy baggage. A dead-pedal should have been there. Good lumber support at both ends is good enough to cover miles.
Braking and Handling: The suspension on the Hyundai i10 tames any disturbance easily. The steering wheel hold is strong but the adrenaline needs to be kept down as the tyres are too pale though the brakes are powerful. As for the wheels, Hyundai i10 is available with 14 inches, 5.0Jx14 fully covered steel wheels adds more style in its exterior looks. Hyundai i10 is packed with puncture resistant tube less tyres with the tyre size of 155/80 R13.
Hyundai i10 Safety Features: The safety includes Airbags, ABS, Seat Belts, Belt Warning Lamp, Door Open Warning Lamp, ABS Warning Lamp, Seat Belt Reminder, Clear Lens Fog Lamps, Rear Combination Lamps, Tubeless Tyres, Engine Immobilizer, Child Locks and Central Locking. The newer ones also have foldable key with keyless entry and reverse parking sensor.
