Chevrolet is named after its designer Louis Chevrolet who was commissioned by a successful buggy manufacturer from Flint, Michigan, William Durant to help him design a car for the general public. The company was established in 1911 and the famous bowtie shape made its first appearance in 1914.
The Chevrolet brand quickly captured the imagination of the car loving community because of its trustworthiness and performance. Handling and fuel economy were also attractive factors of the brand. Today, they are one of the world leaders in automobiles, operating from global headquarters in Detroit, Michigan. The company has operations in 31 countries with China as its largest international market followed by the United States, Brazil, the U.K, Germany and Russia.
