He is often featured on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). The itinerant preacher some call a "prophet" travels worldwide to stage his "crusades." Thousands pack stadiums and amphitheaters hoping to be healed. However, Hinn has failed to prove even a single "healing" objectively. And like the recent "clone" claimed by a "cult," his claims of "miracles" also seem to lack meaningful proof through science. Instead, people apparently feel "healed," therefore they are "healed." Again and again the media has scrutinized the minister and found him wanting, through either his apparent knowing manipulation of the faithful and/or just plain money grabbing. The latest exposé about Hinn just was aired on Dateline NBC. It reported that the Benny Hinn Ministry is now raking in more than $100 million dollars yearly. For all those who reject God's word and do not love the truth, He has allowed this man to delude them (the unbelievers). "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (2 Thessalonians 2:7-12) Here's what God will allow to gather together for all who reject His will. "The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him. All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest. His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant." (Isaiah 57:8-12) Benny Hinn also said the following statements. Even the trinitarians themselves try to distance themselves from his wacky teachings. Here are some new twists on an old concept. Exactly how old you ask, I say as old as Babylon. "God the Father. ladles and gentlemen, is a Person, and He is a triune being by Himself, separate from the Son and the Holy Ghost... God the Father 1s a Person, God the Son Is a Person. God the Holy Ghost Is a Person. But each of them is a triune being by Himself. It I can shock you- and maybe I should- there's nine of 'em... 'God the Father, ladies and gentlemen. Is a Person with His own personal spirit, with His own personal soul, and His own personal spirit body. You say, 1 never read that.' Well, you think you're in this church to hear things that you've heard for the last fifty years? Ladles and gentlemen, this thing is in my book and was tested by three theologians... it's all in the Word...” (TBN, October 13, 1990) “Man, I feel revelation knowledge already coming on me here. Lift your hands. Something new is going to happen here today. ...God the Father, ladies and gentlemen, is a person; separate from the Son and the Holy Ghost. Say, what did you say? Hear it, hear it, hear it. See, God the Father is a person, God the Son is a person, God the Holy Ghost is a person. But each one of them is a triune being by Himself. If I can shock you - and maybe I should - there's nine of them. Huh, what did you say? Let me explain: God the Father, ladies and gentlemen, is a person with his own personal spirit, with his own personal soul, and his own personal spirit-body. You say, Huh, I never heard that. Well you think you're in this church to hear things you've heard for the last 50 years? You can't argue with the Word, can you? It's all in the Word.” Benny Hinn's show on TBN, 10/30/90) “God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost—three separate individuals, one in essence, one in work—and, may I add, each one of them possess His own spirit-body. You don’t like it?” (Benny Hinn, Praise the Lord program on TBN (October 23, 1992). One can only wonder what theologians he visited to get this approval. This is a trinity but with a new twist on it. Now they each are tri-parte beings in themselves a trinity within the trinity. Tertullian first proposed an economic trinity in theory in 200 A.D. based on Plato's work of Timaeus. His inspiration for it came partly from a fellow Grecian philosopher holder Justin Martyr (90-165 AD). He baptized his converts like this. "I baptize you in the name of God the Father and the Lord of all, and our Savior, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost." Baptism had always been in the name of Lord Jesus until the time of Justin Martyr when the triune formula gained acceptance by the Roman Catholic Church. So why are so many deceptions abounding? (Matthew 24) People are refusing to read the word of God for themselves or accept what it plainly says as truth. They are unlike the Bereans. "And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few." (Acts 17:10-12) And how does one receive faith? " So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17) It does not read that faith comes by hearing man's private interpretation of what they feel the word of God says it is. There's only one way to read and know the will of God, by the Holy Spirit which comes upon a true believer after they are 'Born Again' by the water (baptism) and (Holy) the Spirit. (John 3:5) "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." (2 Peter 1:20-21) "But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." (2 Corinthians 2:10-14) So if you do not understand the word of God it is almost always because you are still in your sins, spiritually cut off from God or discerned. "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
