Lenovo IdeaPad G565 has a contemporary design with stylish features that includes biometric login and OneKey Rescue System. This Lenovo laptop has a matte black finish on the rear panel, cover lid and keypad layout. It offers a veriface login that is an additional security feature which does a facial profile with a retina scan.
The battery compartment and the palm rest both support a textured design and the keys have a metallic black finish. This Lenovo laptop has an Onekey recovery, battery status and power button keys are placed between the keypad and battery compartment. It offers a comfortable navigation due to the wide seam of the touchpad.
The power, battery, Wi-Fi and processor status is indicated by four LED Indicators, below the touchpad. It also supports an integrated webcam and a biometric sensor which is activated for veriface login.
Lenovo IdeaPad G565 weighs around 5.5 kgs making it a little bulky. Other features included are 2 USB Port, 1 Ethernet port, VGA Port, DVD Writer, microphone port and headphone port on the right hand side. It has a multicard reader and Wi-Fi on/off keys in front of the palm rest. This Lenovo Laptop keypad is a little cramped while the sides of the laptop are unutilized. The Lenovo IdeaPad G565 is an average performer in different synthetic benchmark tests, although it is decent in the gaming tests. It has an average battery-life of a little less than 3 hours. It supports a low-end hardware configuration. It has outscored the Asus U43Jc Bamboo for 3DMark 2006 and Maxon CineBench test. It is mainly because of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470. The Asus U43Jc has done a little better across other tests. It has scored 3243 points in the PC Mark Vantage with 3122 points scored by the G565.
In the real-world game benchmarks this Lenovo laptop has secured 35.84fps and 112.4fps, while Asus U43Jc has secured 23.67fps.Therefore the real-world game benchmarks contradict the synthetic game scores.
Therefore the Lenovo G565 is better for casual gaming, however for everyday use the Asus U43Jc Bamboo laptop is considered better.
Our Take
The Lenovo Laptops is an average mid-range laptop and provides fairly good value for money. Its executive style features are priced affordably though it has bulky form-factor which can be a hindrance for office goers and frequent travelers. It gives an ordinary performance. Priced at Rs. 38,090 it can be considered a good buy.

Veriface login: During the Veriface profile creation, you are asked to create a password and confirm it. Then you are allowed to start the Veriface biometric login profile creation by clicking on the video record button within the Cyberlink YouCam software interface. It takes several snaps of your face and stores them in a sequence, by scanning your retina and other facial features.
Once the profile is created, it integrates the veriface profile into your user account, so that you could simply give a nice pose in front of the camera to login successfully. The interesting part is that, it manages to recognise your facial features, even with the glasses on, irrespective of whether you wore glasses during the Veriface profile creation or not.
Lenovo ReadyComm: An intuitive and user-friendly software that displays the various Wi-Fi networks available within your laptop range, while simultaneously highlighting the connected networks in Green. It also lists the various Bluetooth devices connected to your computer and their status.
In addition, you could monitor the shared connections over the FTP and manage your shared files and folders by adding or deleting them from the list. Also, you could browse through the shared files and folders residing on other Lenovo ReadyComm user accounts and computers. You have the authorization to send files to one or more users who are connected to your computer online or remove users to free the bandwidth. You could also send invitations to online users to share screens directly.
In addition, you could manage your shared devices & resources, while browsing shared resources with other Lenovo ReadyComm users. If you are a gaming freak, you would love the idea of joining dedicated network gaming through IGRS game application. The other interesting aspect is the Load Avg. technology that enables uniform distribution of network data/traffic over multiple network types like wired & wireless to enhance the network speed and overall performance.
