Jobs in UAE have been attracting a lot of foreign workforce in last few years. Ever since the government decided to shift its economic concentration from oil and gas sector, expatriates are being hired in large numbers. Experienced candidates are quickly absorbed in Middle East job markets in regard to the increasing demand for skilled workers among all the companies looking for best pool of talent. Also, employers in Gulf are open to offering high paying jobs to the deserving candidates throughout all the levels of various industries.
If you are taking up a job in Dubai, your employer would sponsor both your work visa and residency permit. There is an important difference between work visa and residency permit i.e. work visa allows your entry into the city while the permit facilitates your stay. Both the multinational and local companies in Dubai are recruiting qualified population from outside the country to fulfill the growing demand of manpower. Diverse industries are hiring well trained and highly skilled expatriates for different positions across all levels. As a result of this mass hiring from abroad, almost every office in Dubai has a PRO department to support immigration formalities of the expatriates hired.
Residency permit or visa for Dubai can be obtained by furnishing few documents and by completing other legal formalities. All such formalities are taken care of by the employer or PRO of the company as they want earliest and safest arrival of the selected candidate. It is the responsibility of the employer to legally transport the new employee in the city and of helping him/ her get settled in the new atmosphere. The residency permit, work visa and other legal documentation related to immigration according to the signed contract is looked after by the employer. You may get residency permit in other cases but if you wish to work in Dubai, you would need a work visa and when relocating with family, it would require a family visa.
Even though, the sponsor or the employer is responsible for all legal and other paperwork for immigration formalities, you would still need to complete few things. They could be:
-Medical reports
Before relocating to a new place, you must undergo a medical check up and take few important medical tests. Since, healthcare is important, you need to visit the Immigration department with results of you medical tests.
-Education certificates
Get all your education certificates attested by a government notary or solicitor authorized to do so while applying for residence permit for Dubai. The government official is then verified as being qualified by the foreign office during the processing of the permit.
With medical reports, employment contract, attested academic certificates and other documents, residence permit or visa for Dubai can be procured easily. To issue the residence permit, Immigration Department also requires other documents like employment visa with an entry stamp for Dubai, a copy of employer’s establishment immigration card, a copy of its trade license, passport, few passport size photos and processing fee along with medical test result documents and attested and verified educational certificates.
Since, the PRO or the employer helps in getting you a residency permit, he also pays the processing fee involved in the same. Before leaving for Dubai, do make sure that you are aware of some of the basic rules that are to be followed by the immigrants. Some of them may include:
-You cannot leave the city for above six months because on doing so, you lose the residency permit.
-If your partner wishes to take up a job in Dubai, he/ she would need a permit from labor department.
All the rules and regulations would be informed to you by your employer or else you may seek assistance of fellow expatriates.
