Can you remember when you last spent time alone. In today’s day and age being alone means having the TV or radio on or the phone causing constant distractions. With all this going on it’s almost as if the world has conspired to ensure that you never have to actually hear what is going on in your head. We live thoughtless lives of constant action that are programmed and repetitive. We make the same mistakes over and over again expecting different results. When that doesn’t happen we get stressed.

Spend sometime on yourself every day. Even if it is just half an hour spend it in doing something absolutely selfishly for yourself. Don’t do anything just get back in touch with your inner being. Find out how its doing. Introspection is one of the biggest losses in modern life. We go about so busy doing things that we forget to think about what we are doing, why we are doing them and the means we are using to achieve results. To really eliminate stress it is very important to find that inner core of integrity that can only happen by restarting our inner dialogue and finding our compass to living our lives.
Meditate for upto half and hour every day. Sit down and count backwards form hundred. Every time you falter start again. Initially it will be very hard but as you progress you will find that it gets easier. This small indulgence will be your anchor for the whole day. It will help you concentrate on your work better and enjoy the rest of the day. You will find your anger reducing and your calmness increasing, which will lead to further stress relief.
Try and accept your surroundings and your relationships for what they are. Nothing causes stress as much as a constant denial of what and who we are. If you stop trying to change your surroundings and people you will lead a stress free and healthy life. Let the change come when it will without you trying to impose your expectation on it and remember that people don’t change beyond a certain point for most it is sixteen, struggling to change them beyond that is a worthless stress causing effort. Accept your spouse, children, parents, boss, pet, neighbor, colleague for what they are and don’t try and impose your will on them that will just lead to extreme stress and heart burn.
