Details matter - List your skills and abilities in detail. Prepare examples so people know you're the best person for the job.
Words matter - While viewing the world of politics lately, you're bound to have noted the talents of political speechwriters. It's true! A lot of wildly successful candidates only got successful by delivering speeches written by top-notch speech writers. Tell people the exact ways you can help them. Don't lie. Use tact.
Cleverness matters - Be in the right place at the right time to make the networking connections you need. Be helpful at the right time. When influential leaders are making hiring choices, they won't hire you if you and your message are not on their mind and in front of them. You've got to be out there, constantly and ceaselessly.
Persistence matters - Use these tactics 24/7. Don't get tired; don't lose focus. This doesn't mean spending even more hours by your computer screen. Get yourself up, get yourself going, and be sure to get a strategic job search plan in place. This is how onlookers are different from true leaders.
Don't just apply for every job you find and bug everyone for work; do the opposite. Frustration shouldn't make you desperate. Frustration, instead, should become a helpful strategy. Don't get stressed – but stress the positive!
What are you most skilled at? What positions do you succeed best in? When were you the clear leader in a niche? Go over all the skills you've learned in your career. Next, formulate an inventory of any businesses that suit your talents. You can't sit and wait for job postings to pop up online. You still need to browse the Web for job postings of relevant companies. Pursue them. Get through to the people who make decisions. Convince them that out of all the candidates, you're the best expert around. Then, they'll have to think about how your skills and abilities can make them succeed.
But what if your target track is old-fashioned or too narrow? Keep targeting comparable tracks. In other words, you also need to research companies that are similar to your old one. After you've got a niche, target it and don't let up.
It's about strategy and tactics. You need to be the best at what you do, but "what you do" needs to be cleverly stated. This means you have to change the way you think and speak. Don't give up, though. Continue sharpening your focus and continue aiming at your target, keeping in mind that details matter. Eventually, you'll hit a winner!
