-Eye bolts and Dowels
An eye bolt is a type of fastener that's shaped like a lollipop. One end of the bolt looks like the threaded end of a screw, while the opposite end is a circular shape. Threaded ends are the part of the bolt with slanted ridges.
Eye bolts are made to secure cables, strings, wires or chains to other objects. For example, they can be inserted into a ceiling to hold up plumbing pipes. They may also be employed to support hanging objects including paintings and light fixtures.
You can find two kinds of eyebolts, forged and welded. Forged bolts come with an 'eye' on top made by a bending steel that forms a semi-closed loop; while a welded bolt has a fully closed 'eye' welded to a base. Both can be utilized in many applications, however, welded bolts will be more efficient for extreme installations.
A dowel is a round pin utilized to attach things to each other. They may be used to make curtain rods or racks. They're produced from many materials and are available in many sizes. Hardware stores have an array of dowels you could choose from.
One very common choice for a dowel is the one produced from wood. Wooden dowels are used in woodcraft to strengthen joints in furniture. Some nuts use an extra piece that wedges itself against an object, which prevents the nut from turning. Some types of locking fasteners have a chemical compound embedded into the nut's threads that's heated from the friction of tightening the assembly. The heat triggers the chemical, making glue that secures the nut to the bolt.
-Concrete Screws
Concrete screws are strong and flexible fasteners. They're composed of a threaded cylinder employed for holding all kinds of materials together including wood, plastic or even metal. There are several types of screws designed for specific applications. They're classified according to driving methods: head shape, types of threads, and material used to make the screw.
