Role of access control and time attendance system in any business is growing on a daily basis. It’s becoming a necessity to have both systems installed in an office, a retail, a warehouse or a factory as it has enormous benefits to business. Nowadays Access Control and Time Attendance systems span from the simple stand-alone access control Reader & Lock, to the limitless integrated system for hundreds of doors integrating CCTV, Security Alarm and Fire Alarm to give a full turn-key solution.
To understand benefits of these security systems you need to know basic information about the them.
What is Access Control? It’s the ability to permit or deny the use of a particular resource by a particular entity. Access control mechanisms can be used in managing physical resources (such as a Office Entry, Hi-Tech Locations, movie theater, to which only ticketholders should be admitted), logical resources (a bank account, with a limited number of people authorized to make a withdrawal), or digital resources (for example, a private text document on a computer, which only certain users should be able to read).
What is Time & Attendance? It’s the type of security system which allows you to collect and organize your employee time data simply and accurately. The system comes with Biometric, Proximity cards & tags.
Biometric is the science of measuring physical properties of living beings. ISO/IEC: Biometrics is the automated recognition of individuals based on their behavioral and biological characteristics such as fingerprints, eye retinas & irises, voice and/or facial patterns, hand measurements, DNA. By measuring an individual's suitable behavioral and biological characteristics in a recognition inquiry and comparing these data with the biometric reference data which had been stored during a learning procedure, the identity of a specific user is determined. Biometric features are information extracted from biometric samples which can be used for comparison with a biometric reference. Example: characteristic measures extracted from a face photograph such as eye distance or nose size etc. The aim of the extraction of biometric features from a biometric sample is to remove any superfluous information which does not contribute to biometric recognition. This enables a fast comparison, an improved biometric performance, and may have privacy advantages.
RFID card readers (for door access and time attendance) serve a double purpose, while it lets people through doors; it also can register their ins and outs in the software for later revision and calculation.

Fingerprint terminals are considered to be the most pervasive and popular of all attendance terminals. Fingerprints are quite hard to fool, in fact Maxcom’s signature models have been used by the US Air Force for entry and attendance.

Face ID are the latest range of Biometric Terminals, it is also catching on quite rapidly due to the ease of use and the sheer genius of design, comprehensive Access & Attendance reports are also a strong plus.
Benefits of the systems: Access Control protects your property, your staff, restricts unauthorized access, eliminates problems related to security breach such as use of mechanical keys and locks where Time & Attendance reduces the time required to register work hours, reduces payroll administration, reduces errors in enforcement of company attendance policies.
Maxcom is continuously doing R&D in the field of access control and time attendance devices and came up with the system which will be fitted with world class standards like electrical power backup for the locks, readers and controllers to make sure the systems are in good standing at all times, balancing the fail-safe and the fail-secure methodologies well to maintain the best for the corporate & users, Biometric terminals, which are Fingerprint and / or Face identification, also control doors, although they are normally targeted towards the Time & Attendance Applications where users log-in using their fingers and then the Admin remotely collects all kinds of helpful reports to track attendance and calculate payroll.
One super-feature is the ability for management of remote access to devices by logging-in from any browser anywhere in the world and it can easily see who's in and out and generate quick reports which tell them how the attendance is going for their company.
So what you get is the Biometric Time & Attendance Terminal and Access Control System (opens doors based on authentication - or rejects false entries).
