In every culture there are some society and institutions on the basis of which the life of the members proceeds smoothly and in planned manner.

The main characteristics according to Montessori training online of social disorganization are as follows:-
1. Conflict of mores and of institutions:-
In every culture there are some society and institutions on the basis of which the life of the members proceeds smoothly and in planned manner. With the course of time these society and institutions become outdated and antiquated and fail to satisfy needs of the members of the society. Every new principle arises and new institutions are formed out of differences of opinion and ideals. In this way society is broken up into the various groups.
2. Transfer of functions from one group to another :
The functions of every group are determined in a controlled society. But society is always active and these functions of group cannot remain the same for a longer period of time. As time passes the functions of one groups are transferred to another. This is not conductive to any specific meaning of the functions of the various groups and they are likely to become confused. This disorderliness encourages social disorganization. This aspect of social disorganization can be seen in recent Indian society. The functions of the state have increased manifold. Changes in the ideal of marriage have served to vary its functions. Due to the growing effect of all these causes, the method of social disorganization is very much in support in recent Indian Society.
3. Personal Individuation:
In an planned society the functions of an individual are determined on the basis of the social organization. From the social point of view, marriage, Family, Occupation etc. were based on some specific pattern in ancient India. But in the modern age of individualism every occasion he wants to take an independent choice and does not want to take into concern the interest of society. In this way recent youngmen and women want to decide on such important matters as marriage, family, occupation travel methods, moral ways etc. In accordance with or from the view induced by their private and individual prejudices, interest and attitudes without caring for the society.
4. Changes in the social structure:
A change in the social structure means vary in the roles of functions and type of its members. In a planned society the status and functions of each person are defined and everyone works accordingly. This maintains the society in an organized order. But as time passes, changes in social principles and thinking are accompanied by changes in their type and functions. This change takes away the specific meaning of an individual’s status and function and they therefore do as they please. Due to this social disorganization sets in. In Hindu society the disorganization of families and background groups is obvious.

a. Formalism
b. The decline of blessed element.
c. Individuality of interest and tastes.
d. Highlighting on personal freedom and individual rights.
e. Hedonistic behavior.
f. Population Heterogeneity.
g. Mutual Distrust.
h. Unrest Phenomena.
In this way, Social disorganization means a lack of method in the mutual relationships of persons, their respective status and functions, in social values, in mores and institutions.
