What To Do In Rio This December 2010 PART 2

The article offers a few ideas about how to spend the New Year’s Eve in Rio de Janeiro this 2010.
As you might have read from the first part of our article, Rio de Janeiro is a great location regardless the time of the year. If you plan to visit it this December, you will have a lot to do, especially if you want to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Rio. It is the second greatest event in Rio’s tourist calendar, bringing together millions and millions of people along the Copacabana beach front, almost all of them wearing white, to observe the amazing firework display. Of course, 2011 will be celebrated through the entire city; here are the most important spots on December 31st.

New Year’s Eve Parties In Hotels Along The Seafront – tourists together with cariocas will participate in parties, serving special menus and champagne, food prepared by famous chefs, listen to live music and many other interesting and fun activities which will celebrate the event.

Hotel Copacabana Palace – the party will take place in Nobre, Golden and sea-view rooms, starting with 8 PM. Executive chef Francesco Carli will organize the buffet supper which will include drinks, live music, starting from 9 PM until the midnight. Participants will be able to view the firework display from the verandah of the Nobre Room, with an exquisite view of the famous Copacabana Beach.

New Year’s Eve Suppers At Cipriani Restaurant – starting from 8 PM, will feature live piano music, a menu organized by executive chef Francesco Carli with drinks. A firework display can be viewed from the terrace at midnight.

Pergula Restaurant – buffet supper served from 8 PM, with traditional drinks included. A DJ will keep the atmosphere alive and the firework display can be viewed at midnight from the terrace above the restaurant.

Windsor Excelsior – 12 year old whisky, fireworks display from the roof top of the hotel; these are the ingredients for the party.

Hotel Porto Bay Rio Internacional – a special dinner will be offered in the Events Room, on the 4th floor as well as at the La Finestra Restaurant, located on the 5th floor.

Atlantis – here the restaurant will be serving a buffet starting from 9 PM until 3 AM. Participants will get delicacies from the French, Italian, Moroccan, Japanese and Thai cuisines. In addition, deserts and 8 year old whisky will be served, along with a fine selection of red and white French wines, beer, soft drinks, fruit juices and Brazilian sparkling wine.

Windsor Barra – will feature an exclusive fireworks display right on the terrace of the hotel. A super special buffet will have hot dishes, cold cuts, Chilean wines, sparkling wines, 8 year old whisky and special deserts.

Intercontinental Hotel – the party will be focused on young people. The program will feature electronic, funk and samba music in both dance floors. Included are the hot dishes, salads, beverages, tidbits and breakfast.

Clube Costa Brava – a generous menu that includes a wide variety of cold cuts and beverages will be at the disposal of the participants, along with musical attractions.

Clube De Regatas Do Flamengo – it will reach its 4th edition this year and will organize a super Carioca party, decorated o a beach-like style and with a buffet that will offer a sophisticated dinner, fabulous entrees and delicious deserts plus a copious breakfast for the first morning of 2011.

All things considered, celebrating the New Year in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil gives you a tone of possibilities to have fun as there are many locations in the city where this event will be celebrated.
