The main advantage of this type of sensing cable was that it detected water along the entire length of cable. It also allowed areas or equipments containing water that surrounded insuring that leaks were found no matter in which direction the water was flowing. From that time, a revolution came with the discoveries of many new techniques which had alarm panels and the reporting of water leaks. But in today’s world you can be texted, e-mailed, can also receive a phone call, you can also record it on the building management system or might have a simple buzzer and lamp.
