Fountains in the earlier days were intended to enhance the beauty of parks, churches, palaces and forts. The marble statue in the middle of an artificial pool, and clear water flowing from its hands into the pool was an amazing scene to watch. The presence of a fountain in a park would complement the beauty of nature.

How did you ever wish if you could have such a miniature fountain in your own backyard or small garden which would increase the splendor of it? Well, now you have a solution to it – Wall Fountains. These are artificially designed fountains that can be placed anywhere, from your gardens to your walkways or even indoors and corners of your hallways. Owing to its increasing popularity and demand, nowadays you can find wall fountains of any shape, size and material in the market to suit your requirements.

The different types of fountains available in the market are:

• Indoor wall fountains – These fountains are mainly designed to be installed in rooms, offices and halls or walkways. They are small in size to be accommodated in small spaces and are usually made of plastic, wood, plaster of paris etc.

If you can place it well with good lighting and a contrasting background they will increase the beauty of your room.

• Outdoor Wall Fountains – As the name suggests these fountains are used to enhance the beauty of decks, stone walls and gazebos. They can be easily placed on flat surfaces, and connected to any water source. They add a majestic look wherever they are installed as water appeals to everyone and add a touch of calmness and serenity to the place naturally.

• Garden Fountains – These are bigger in size and are installed permanently in the gardens with a permanent water source connected to it. They add a marvelous splendor to your garden and its surroundings. As the water trickles down in the pool below and birds perch atop it chirping, it takes you to another world of tranquility and immense calmness. You can also install statues or vintage art collections around the fountain to add to its beauty. A garden fountain can add to your garden its aesthetic values and at the same time compliment the surroundings around it.

Also you must note that garden fountains help plants and greenery grow better in the garden. This is because the moisture present around it due to the continuous flow of water provides natural nourishment to the plants around.

• Pedestal fountains – Most wall fountains are shaped like pedestal fountains with a solid base of concrete or bricks. The solid base is necessary so that the fountain water or sprinkler does not erode away the soil from beneath. The fountains are hollow from within to contain water tricking down the fountain.

• Cascading wall fountains – As the name suggests, the wall fountains are designed in a cascade manner, adding steps or cliffs at frequent intervals from top to bottom. This way the fountain water will fall at different levels giving an even more marvelous look.
