Varanasi is known for its spirituality, culture, mysticism, philosophy and Hinduism. It is one of the holiest places of India where devotees and tourists come from far and wide. This city is dotted with numerous temples, ghats and ashrams.
Varanasi is Popularly known as the city of light, which reflects age-old Indian civilization. It is ideally located on the banks of river Ganga. You can also enjoy a boat ride on the river in the early morning to treat your senses with breathtaking views of sunrise.

It is also a pilgrimage centre of Jains as it is believed that Parsvanath, the twenty third Tirthankar of Jains was born here. Sarnath is a wonderful destination near Varanasi where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Several famous writers, poets, philosophers and musicians also lived here. Some of them are Kabir, Swami Ramanand, Ravidas, Munshi Premchand and Tulsidas.

The most famous attractions of Varanasi are Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Bharat Mata Mandir, Durga Temple, Ramnagar Fort, and its Banarasi silk saris. Its silk saris are famous the world over for their great quality and beauty. The sweets of this place are also quite famous for their delicious taste. All these things about Varanasi make it a fascinating place to visit. A visit to Varanasi is incomplete without buying silk saris from its colorful bazaars and its delicious Sweets.

The more you explore, the more you will be overwhelmed with this historic city. It is a popular Hindu belief that a Hindu must visit Varanasi at least once in a lifetime. Its culture, its atmosphere, its art and crafts, religious fervor, natural beauty, glorious history have captured the hearts of millions of tourists.
