In Microsoft Windows operating system, you can create, remove, or extend hard drive partitions using Diskpart tool. It is a powerful command-line utility that is extremely useful for Windows users. Diskpart (Disk Partition Utility) is a part of Windows

Recovery Console that works as disk management tool. However, in case you use this tool on a dynamic disk, it may cause severe drive damage and grave data loss. In such circumstances, you are required to use Hard Drive Recovery Software to get your valuable data recovered.

The Diskpart utility is different from several command-line tools as it doesn't operate in a single-line mode. In place, after starting the tool, it reads commands from standard I/O (Input/Output). These commands can be directed to any hard drive, volume, or partition. The utility enables a superset of actions, which are supported by Disk Management snap-in. You are advised to use this tool cautiously as it allows explicit control of the volumes and partitions.

The Diskpart utility includes a number of parameters or options, which are used to perform specific operations on your hard drive. These options include:

/add- Create new partition on your hard drive.

/delete- Remove any existing hard drive partition.

You need to specify the below arguments while using this tool:

device_name- A device name to create new partition. Name can be taken from output of MAP command.

drive_name- The drive-letter based label to delete an existing hard drive partition.

partition_name- Name of the partition to delete existing hard drive partition. You can use it in place of the drive_name argument.

size- specify the size of new hard drive partition in MB (megabytes).

You should use this command very carefully on your Windows hard drive. It may damage the partition table and cause severe data loss if your hard drive is upgraded from a basic disk to dynamic disk. You should not alter the structure of the dynamic disk unless you use the Disk Management snap-in.

In case of data loss, Hard Drive Data Recovery becomes essential to safeguard your valuable data and business. It is the process of retrieving lost, missing, and inaccessible data using third-party Hard Drive Recovery tools.
