• Apples: Needless to say, this is the most commonly available ingredient and is known to curb weight loss. Apples are known to contain pectin, a soluble fiber that is known to help you feel fuller for a longer period. Pectin is also known to restrict the absorption of fat. Apples are also known to detox the body and increase metabolism, thereby making the body efficient in burning fat.
• Lemon: Lemon and other citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C. This is known to help in reducing weight by breaking down the fat molecules and thereby speeding up metabolism. Citrus fruits like orange, tangerine, lemon, and grape fruits are known to be high in fiber, thus making you feel full for a longer time. In fact, a study of obese people found that people who ate half a grapefruit before a meal lost more than 3 pounds in 12 weeks. Phytochemicals present in the fruit are known to reduce insulin levels, thereby forcing the body to burn fat.
• Fenugreek Seeds: This is a commonly used spice in the Indian sub continent. Besides being low on carbohydrate, fenugreek seeds are known to be rich in fiber, thereby making a person feel full. The seeds are also known to high in protein- an essential element during dieting.
• Kiwi Fruit: Kiwi fruit is native to China and is commonly called ‘Chinese gooseberry’. The fruit is low on calories and very high in fiber. Consuming this fruit on a regular basis is known to control cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart attack. Kiwi fruit is known to be high in Vitamin C and hence aids weight loss.
• Nuts: This is probably the most difficult to believe. Nuts have always been known to be high in fat and calories. Although they do contain fats, these are healthy fats, and when taken in small amounts, nuts are good for health. They are also known to be high in protein, fiber and minerals.
