Wine, one of the most sensual and savoring drinks that you could ever taste in life. It has been around for hundreds of years and till today wine has never seemed to disappoint our taste buds. But are there really certain secrets in tasting wine with utmost perfection? If that question is on your mind now, the answer is yes and the item you need would be the perfect wine glass for that wine you're about to taste. Wine glasses are one of the most important aspects to wine besides drinking quality wine. This is mainly because wine glasses do come in different shapes, sizes and designs that suit different purposes and drinks. Hence, below are some examples of types of glasses you should get for a particular type of wine.
White wine can be considered one of the most appealing and visually attractive wines besides red wine. It is made in various countries including France and usually portrays class and excellence. Taking that into view, wine glasses for white wines also do portray class as they are usually upright and is almost looks like a U shaped glass. The reason being it actually helps direct the wines aroma towards the person who's drinking onto it.
This wine glass also helps keep the temperature of the drink cooler and also gives an elegant look towards the drink especially if the glasses are of high quality and clean. White wine glasses are also divided into two different types which would be crisp whites and fuller whites. Crisp white wine glasses usually have a larger rim and directs the wine to the tip and the sides of the tongue whereas fuller whites are taller and straighter in design, where it allows the wine to the back and sides of the tongue. Through this you'll actually feel the richness of the white wine you taste.
Next we head to the most common of wines which would be red wine. Red wines are usually a perfect addition to fine dining. It is rich in taste and its color makes it even more attractive looking compared to white wine. Red wine glasses are usually rounder and are bigger at the mouth compared to white wine glasses. The reason being that, red wine actually has more aroma surrounding it compared to white wine and is best tasted when you get to indulge into the aroma at the same time you're drinking it. Thus the larger rim of the cup actually allows you to drink it while having your nose closer to the drink. This way you'll not only taste the wine but also smell it.
Besides that, the larger area is also to allow air to mix into the cup and surround the drink. Through this the aroma will be even stronger and can be smelled easily. There are also two types of red wine glasses which would be the Bordeaux and Burgundy glass. The difference between these two glasses would be their height where the Bordeaux glass is taller than the other.
