The word “Urdu” basically takes its roots from a Turkish word “Ordu” meaning “an army”, “a camp” or “a legion”. Modern Urdu has undertaken an evolutionary journey spanned well over 900 years by now, to carve mould its presently known shape and style, through the tides of time and space, showing us its current form.

The old Urdu, most commonly referred as “Rekhta” was a fine combination of three different languages, i.e. Arabic, Persian and Turkish languages. All these got a chance to mingle up with each other due to Muslim soldiers of all these different descents; shaped up to be effectively used as a means of mutual communication amongst those Muslim soldiers of speaking three different languages, as they spent their time and energies in conquering the areas including and surrounding the Indian subcontinent. This new found language developed there followed those marching and expanding armies, in the process making way for its evolution and progression.

language is blessed with an amazing characteristic of absorbing and adapting new local words, phrases and everyday proverbs of indigenous languages wherever it spreads which has basically helped it greatly in surviving, progressing and flourishing through passing times.
It is attributed to be an “alive” language that is verily in use of some as many as 490 million people approximately, all around the globe. Urdu is very much more than a daily life conversational medium, but one that has been able to produce great literary landmarks in both genres,i.e. prose as well as poetry.
The popularity of this language is on an upward scaling and with each passing day the number of people motivated to learn it is increasing significantly all across the globe.
That has led towards devising more and more new, innovative and unique ways surfacing to help people learn this language conveniently and effectively, also proving greatly helpful in progression and evolution of the language.
In this regard the most widely used approach towards learning Urdu has been through traditional classroom approach with a teacher introducing ways to help students learn it. Recently, the Information Technology (IT) wave has also played part in its progression by helping people in learning it using ever convenient and effective ways.
The innovation of online learning has made it much more accessible to people living in all parts of the world, elevating them far above the constraints of time and space during the process, as one can opt to learn at any time and from anywhere according to personal suitability.
In Online learning, various strategies can be followed. One can either go with self learning tutorials, helping himself/herself slowly proceed in the process, or one can resort to the convenience of one on one teleconference with the tutor, making it even more convenient and effective mode of
learning.
In addition to that, there is a large collection of Urdu dramas and movies, which can prove to be the most interesting and effective medium of learning any language, let alone Urdu. Thus, present times offer quite a number of effective and convenient modes of learning any language to offer you the enjoyment of knowing and exploring other cultures.
