Trucking industry of a country forms the backbone of the trade and commerce of it. Hence it is immensely important for the economic growth of the place.

The other categories are heavy combination and multi combination trucks. Along with these, the semi trailer trucks are also common on Australian roads.
In United States, a commercial driving license is required for trucks whereas in Australia, you have to obtain particular class of license for particular class of vehicle. There are different criteria, training process and tests conducted for Light Rigid, Medium Rigid or Heavy Rigid License. In all cases the applicant has to undergo thorough training process and there after pass the theoretical knowledge and eyesight tests for obtaining the license finally. In India, a Volvo trucks are manufactured by automobiles companies.
Being a highly populated country with loads of natural resource, in India, trucking plays a major role. It is also known as the Road Goods Transport Industry as the economy depends largely depends on the export of raw materials and import of goods. The industry has grown a large deal after the independence as the economy of the country started changing. The main reason behind the growing popularity is because of its flexibility compared to railways in case of reach. It can reach hilly areas and require comparatively less time in loading and uploading goods than rails. As the economy of the country largely depends on this, the truck license is a very necessary component in India.
However, as the fall of the global economy in recent times, the trucking industry in developing countries is getting affected to a large deal. The continuous rise of the automotive fuel price decreases the demand of vehicles with low fuel efficiency. In India, the bad road infrastructure also is a major cause for the diminishing importance. Moreover, the prices of the automobile are increasing to a huge extent. It has become a major concern for the whole world, as it is affecting the trade and commerce and world communicating system hugely.
