Millions of women today are faced with problems of hair loss and hair thinning. But the best part about this today, is that it’s now possible to get those curly and long locks thanks to wigs and hair extensions. The wigs and hair extensions industry is a billion dollar industry in the United States. There’s a plethora of choices for people looking for them. You could either choose from lace wigs, synthetic wigs, human hair wigs , front lace wigs, African American wigs or could chose from a wide array of manufacturers that range from Sepia wigs, Motown Tress Wigs, Vivica Fox Wigs, Jon Reneu wigs, to even Aspen wigs.
But taking care of these can be a problem for especially for those who are new to the world of wigs. Before you wear your wig remember to give it a gentle shake. This ensures that your wig is loosened out thus opening up the hair. For a straight hair you could use a simple wig brush and gently comb through the hair. For curls remember to run your fingers, instead of the hair brush through the hair.
It’s important to wash your wig well. You could wash you wigs every two weeks, but that completely depends on the time that your wig is exposed to, for example, if you’ve exposed your wig to the scorching sun, you might need to wash it regularly. It’s very much like your own hair, i.e. when you feel your hair getting tangled, or feels sticky and lifeless…remember the wig needs a wash. Soak the wig in water for a few minutes and then wash it off with a shampoo. Remember to use shampoos and cleaning products manufactured especially for wigs and hair extensions. Never wash your hair with hot water.
When you use wigs and human extensions, remember to stay away from heat, especially during cooking or barbecuing. Synthetic wigs and hair extensions are to be kept very carefully as they tend to singe when exposed to heat.
After you shampoo r, remember to never brush your hair when it is wet, or use hair dryer. The wig should be allowed to dry naturally. Also as earlier said remember to use products that are specifically designed to be used for wigs. Also remember not to use hair brushes with nylon bristles. The curls are sure to open up hence avoid hair sprays as well. You could remove your wig before sleeping. This ensures that you wig remains clean and with a glow forever.
