The affordability of bikes, low maintenance cost and great performance are some of the reasons why bikes are popular among buyers. Another huge advantage of riding bikes is that the bikers can move around easily even on the most congested roads without wasting their precious time. The growing demand of bikes in India has encouraged several bike manufacturers to introduce stylish bikes with latest features. Today in India, the market is fully swamped with various bikes from different brands, ranging from the lowest to the highest in style, performance and price.

It has been more than 50 years now that bikes have been ruling the Indian automobile sector. Indian bikes market share is about 81.5% of the total two wheeler market in India. Three-fourths of the total exports in the two wheeler automobile industry are made in the motorcycle segment. Exports are made mainly to South East Asian and SAARC nations.

All of a sudden, we see that the performance motorcycle segment exploding. What was once a country interested in mileage only, India has not got transformed into a market that asks for speed of the bike. Performance has always been a relative term and the bikers have now taken it to another height with the love for superbikes. There are dime a dozen superbikes in India today. Yet, they never fail to turn heads when the roar past on the roads. It's probably the deep throated growl of the engines that gives them their identity or it's probably their speed and acceleration. Superbikes sport engine capacity of around 1,000 cc or more.

The sales of superbikes are happening fast, even with the eye-popping prices that they sport. The bikes are moving off the shelves faster than perhaps the bikes themselves.
