Information, hereinafter, provided by the author, is intended for guidance only, and is not a substitute for the readers who are seeking professional and personalised advice based on their specific painting project/s. Our professional House Painters Sydney has provided these tips for DIY fans seeking to paint inside of their house.
Painitng inside you house can be challenging, yet an exciting task and having a bit of experience can be an advantage. Before doing anything and becoming too excited, please make sure to select the right colour/s.
Our professional Residential Painters Sydney at Starland Painting can assist you with this confusing task. Once you have selected the right colour/s, please make sure to buy some paint samples of your selected colour/s and apply those paint samples on the dark and bright sections of your house. You may ask why do I have to apply the paint samples on the dark and bright sections of the house? Well, sometimes heavily tinted paints, or in other words, the dark colours can be seen differently on separate section of the house, depending on how much natural and artificial light they receive. And obviously you don’t want to figure this after you have fully repainted your house, ending up not liking it or being criticised by your wife or mother-in-law! So, do a few samples on few sections of your house and leave for it for a few days, which will allow you to make the right decision, and most importantly, to ask your wife’s and her mother’s opinion on your challenging task ahead.
Next stage is to cover up and place your furniture in the middle of the room/s allowing yourself at least one meter from the wall, so you can easily carry out with the task. If your house is not furnished, you may then just cover up the floors with some proper drop sheets, not cheap ones, as the paint will go through the cheap ones staining your floors and carpet.
After covering up, you need to know to do some preparations i.e, patching, sanding, and filling up all the gaps and cracks. You need to allow enough time making sure all your patches and fillings are properly dried. Please read the instructions that come with materials that you use. Don’t forget to spot prime the areas that you have patched, obviously after patched are dried properly.
Our Painters Sydney would like to advice you that if you intent to have the best finished quality, you need to apply one coat of primer on entire surfaces that you aim to paint. This will allow the surfaces to receive the final coat on an even rate and consistency, which will look professional upon finishing it. Please make sure to leave some doors and windows open while you are painting allowing fresh air inside your house, and do NOT sleep in the house during your painting activities, nor allow children into the house.
