It is natural for parents to desire capturing the special moments and qualities that their newborn has. Taking newborn photos has many parents rather meticulous as they use camcorders, digital cameras or special smart phones and snapping away each moment, minor or not. At the end however, the pictures do not usually look that memorable. However, this is understandable since not many parents are professional photographers and hardly know the right way to pose and manner of taking newborn photos.
There are great tips however to make every photo taking session of your baby high quality and really charming. As much as each photo of your newborn is beautiful in your eyes you can take images that are high quality, enchanting and very impressive.
Choose the best baby pose. There is no way a newborn can pose but you can maneuver the baby around and find the best angle that a photo of the baby can be taken. Remember to be as gentle as possible as you search for poses that will appear delightful from about any side, whether it’s from the side or above.
The background must be considered as well. Avoid focusing on the adorable nature of the baby to the point of ignoring the newborn photos background. Remember wrong background can spoil a great shot. An example is when the newborn has not left the hospital and you are looking for a picture of the sleeping bundle of joy. You can drape some cool fabric about the baby to keep hidden the sometimes not tasteful hospital bassinet. If you can get a solid background, you have a winner since the baby’s features will be evident.
Don’t forget the baby in totality. What many forget is that some wonderful newborn photos are sometimes those that capture a specific part of his or her body. You can consider starting with the feet, face or even hands for instance and then a close-up of the newborn’s profile. Make sure you do not forget full body shots that have the angel’s full body. This means you avoid as much as you can chopping a particular part of the body within the photo.
Don’t forget to take many photos as possible. This is obvious but usually not the case. It means taking a couple of shots from the same place but from different angles. This can guarantee some really high-quality photo shots.
Some parents only take newborn photos of the toddler in a happy moment. Remember some of the most interesting ones you will ever take are those that the baby looks upset or fussy. Nevertheless, do not ignore a crying baby so that you can take a couple of shots.
Make use of natural light or one diffused since it might upset the baby or frighten him or her through the brightness of the flash.
