If you have a Twitter account for your company, chances are you've struggled with coming up with good updates. Sometimes, it comes naturally to you, but even then you can't be sure people are paying attention. It takes a little extra thought to write a tweet that garners attention, but it's not as difficult as it seems. Here, we'll talk about four tips for writing better tweets.
Write tweets ahead of time and incorporate keywords. If you write your posts when it's time to update your Twitter account, an important tidbit of information or keyword may slip your mind. To help prevent this, you should write out your keywords and updates ahead of time so you'll be ready and your updates will be consistent. This also helps you if you can't think of anything to post; you can always go check your reserve of updates and find one to post while you think of something else or wait for the latest product update or company developments.
Use your company name and/or URL in your tweets whenever appropriate. Being limited to only 140 characters can make this one a little tricky, which is why you should plan ahead. Mentioning your company name or URL in addition to keywords will increase your visibility and search engine optimization. It will drive more traffic to your site and you want people to look around, so be careful to keep it honest, relevant, and in context.
Use keywords in your Twitter biography. To increase search engine optimization and drive more traffic to your account and site, you should use keywords whenever you can and where ever it fits. Writing a short biography about your business helps - but remember to do more than just list a bunch of keywords. Use them in context that reads well to humans too. If you write naturally, it should happen automatically.
If your business name is taken, use something related as your Twitter name. Everyone who has used the Internet extensively has experienced this at some point or another. You come up with the perfect user name only to find it's already been taken by someone else. There are ways to combat this and ensure that your account is still associated with your brand, though. You can use keywords alone or combined with a variation of the name. You can also come up with something that has to do with the city your business is located in and the industry (such as CharlotteWebDesign). There are plenty of different names you can come up with if you give it some extra thought.
These are just a few of the many things you can do to get the most out of your Twitter account. You can always contact an e-commerce provider for more tips and advice for how to manage your social networking accounts.
