In Italy, espresso is a product that the locals are very proud of. They even have a method of knowing whether the espresso is prepared correctly. You may also like espresso topped with milk foam, a drink commonly known as macchiato. To add zing to your espresso, try the espresso Romano—an espresso shot with a twist of lemon. In a hot summer day, it will be nice to prepare a Granita. This is basically an iced and sweetened espresso, crushed and put on ice cream recipes.

Espresso is not only a winner in breakfast tables. They can also fill in for typical cocktail beverages. If you have an espresso machine at home, these cocktail drinks should be easy enough to prepare for your next party.

1. The Espresso Martini
To prepare espresso martini, you will need 7 ounces of vodka, ½ ounce of coffee liqueur and ice. Combine ice, vodka and coffee liqueur and shake for half a minute. With your espresso machine, prepare 30ml of espresso and add to the coffee liqueur-vodka mixture. Give it two to three shakes. Let it rest for a minute then pour into martini glasses. Top with coffee beans for garnish.

2. Vodka Espresso
Using the espresso machine, prepare a shot of espresso. Once ready, you may pour in vodka, espresso, two teaspoons of castor sugar and ice cubes in a container and shake vigorously for about thirty seconds. Strain into a cocktail glass and stain with cream liqueur on top.

3. Mocha Martini
Assuming that you have forgotten to drink your espresso and now it’s cold. What are you going to do with it? Would you let such delicious beverage go to waste? You can still make another delightful cocktail drink with it. All you have to do is shake equal parts of ice, espresso, bourbon, cocoa liqueur and cream liqueur in a container. Strain into chilled glass and top off with a teaspoonful of whipped cream. Sprinkle cocoa powder for garnish.
