Parents are like the gardener who nurtures and protects the baby plants so that these can grow up properly and can enhance the beauty of the garden. The gardener applies the best fertilizer in the garden so that the plants can grow and flourish; in the same way, we parents also want to provide our kids the best educational facility so that they can enjoy a secured future. Choosing the right school for the child is always a challenging task to the parents. In a school, a child’s ideas get structured. It is that part of our life which decides our future. Thus before considering a school to admit the child, the parents need to consider many things. Below given tips can help the parents in choosing the right school for their child:-

• Philosophy of Excellence- A School’s philosophy is often stated in its vision and mission statement. However, the parents can consider some more things like the test scores, the final results of students, awards of excellence won by students and faculty members, the alumni of the school and the overall performance of the particular school. These are some of the pyramids that ensures the parents about the authenticity of the vision-mission statement

• Plan a Physical Visit- Parents need to visit the school once before taking a final decision. But before planning the visit, parents need to prepare well for that. Read in detail about the school that you are going to visit. Examine the school profile online and also note down any question that you want to ask the school authorities. You can also talk to other parents whose children are already studying in the school

• Schedule the Visit- Prior to the visit, don’t forget to take an appointment from the school authorities and ask for a date when you can visit the school. Also find out whether you can meet the principal and some teachers while you are there

• Prepare List of Questions- You may have many questions about the school sprouting in your mind. Note down the questions in a note book so that you can clear up all your doubts during your visit

• Ask and Observe- During your visit, be sure that you can observe each and every detail of the school. Observe closely the security measures for the students, teacher-student ratio, the space in the classrooms, lighting condition in the classroom, play ground, classes for extracurricular activities and facilities for doing physical exercise

• Behavior of Students- Don’t forget to observe the behavior of the students. This will give you an idea about what type of treatment the students are getting inside the school

Having decided on specific needs, take time to consider potential options. It is recommended to limit this to half a dozen possibilities at the most. Choose more to consider and you will end up wasting a lot of valuable time.
