The divine bead Rudraksha is a really powerful bead and it has got many healing effects which are showered on the wearer of this bead. Not only spiritual but also mental as well as physical benefits are obtained by the use of this sacred bead. This divine bead will show its real effect only when it is energized and sanctified by doing the Rudraksha puja. The Rudraksha puja is also known as Suddhikaran or Pran Pratishtha of the bead. This ritual when followed properly by the use of certain mantras shows its true effect. It is essential to follows the steps that are required to do the Rudraksha puja.
The Pran Pratishtha is needed to be done before an individual wears the Rudraksha for the first time. The Rudraksha puja can either be performed by the wearer themselves or they can take the help of priests who are well versed in the mantras. By Pran Pratishtha, it means giving life to the bead. It is not advised to perform the Rudraksha puja on any day which is not auspicious. The Pran Pratishtha is best done on Monday as the day is also known for worshipping Lord Shiva and Rudraksha itself has got its name from Lord Shiva. The puja should be done step by step and individuals should make themselves knowledgeable about all the mantras or prayers before the puja is performed. The following process should be performed by the user before wearing the divine bead Rudraksha.
• The beads should be soaked in oil overnight.
• The beads are then washed with Panchamrit which is a mixture of unboiled milk, curd, honey, Ganga jal, desi ghee.
• This should be done while chanting the Shiva Mantra-Om Namah Shivaye 108 times.
• Then the ganga jal is used again to wash the beads while chanting the Sadyojaat mantra.
• The Vaamdev mantra is used while taking out the beads which are dipped in a mixture made of sandalwood paste, Astagnadha and a saffron solution.
• Then the Aghor mantra is chanted while incense is offered.
• Again the saffron is smeared in the beads while chanting the Tatpurush mantra.
• The next step involves chanting the Eeshan mantra on each bead.
• Next the mantra which is specific to each faceted bead is chanted.
• The Maha Mrityunjaya mantra is chanted nine times.
• Finally a mantra is chanted while folding the hands is a namaskar mudra and the Rudraksha puja is thus completed.
As said earlier, Monday is the best day to carry out the Rudraksha puja and before wearing, the bead or the rosary of Rudraksha should be touched with the Shivalinga. Thus for getting the best results from the Rudraksha it is advisable to perform the Rudraksha puja properly.
