As with most things these days, the internet provides a great opportunity to view properties in a quick and accessible way. Thanks to this, the majority of buyers will first take a look here before contacting an estate agent regards properties which interests them.
With this in mind, it is essential that sellers work with local estate agents who use these avenues to their best potential. There are two main protagonists in the online property market; primlocation.com and rightmove.com. Estate agents will likely advertise their portfolios on their own sites too.
This all allows properties to be marketed to the widest possible audience but, there are many estate agents who do not use these portals to their full potential. For this reason, it is well worth sellers looking at how local estate agents they are considering working with, use them.
One thing to look out for in particular are the pictures. Ahead of anything else, there should be pictures in the first place; homes advertised without these barely get looked at, but how they are used is also important.
The order of them should be sensible, and make sense to the flow of the property. All too often, pictures are in not in any particular order, sometimes upside down, not cropped properly and poorly displayed. They should also be of a high quality too; dull and washed out photos are off putting at best.
Another essential aspect of online property marketing is the description. Whilst this does not and should not be as extensive as that on the printed property listing, it should cover all the basics. Ensuring it is well written, without spelling and grammatical mistakes also shows an agent's professionalism.
Another website which UK estate agents should be on is Meet My Agent. We aren't a property listing site, but we do offer ratings and estate agent reviews from previous sellers, as well as providing all their contact details, so valuations can be requested in the simplest way.
