People defend the theory that the origin of plumbing in the ancient civilizations such as Greek, Roman, Persian and Chinese, these civilizations developed in the public

Over the centuries innovations and improving the plumbing has been very slow, not much Progress has been made from the time of the Roman system of aqueducts to the lead pipes of the 19th century. Note that the development of groundwater and separated sewage systems eliminated ditches and open sewers drains.
During the past century was in plumbing evolved before the water system relied on gravity for the supply of water, using pipes or channels, nowadays water systems are a network of high pressure pumps supplying water to the house of a city or village.
Another thing that has changed over time was the material used to make pipes, old cultures used to make them with clay, lead or stone. With the advent of high pump pressure of the pipes were replaced with copper pipes, brass or Plastic.
With all these new inventions and developments of a new career emerged, plumbing career. The plumber is a working man who installs and repairs piping, fixtures, equipment, and accessories related to water supply systems, drainage
etc., both in and out of buildings.
But it's plumbing engineers to the ancient Roman Empire that the Western world must his allegiance. The glory of the Roman legions lies not only in roads they built
and the system of law and order they provided. It was their engineering genius and skills of their craftsmen that enabled them to erect great baths and recreation
centers, the water supplied by aqueducts from sources miles away.
Today to become a professional plumber, you will need certain skills and courses according to the area you live now, there are many colleges and private institutions that offer professional plumbing courses.
Some achievements
1- The first flush toilet or water-closet was invented by Sir John Harrington in 1596. Harrington invented both a valve at the bottom of the water tank, and a wash-down system. However it was not widely adopted because there was no supply of running water to flush it.
2- The pneumatic Test-BallĀ® Plug was developed in 1952 by Lloyd Cherne.
3- Elkay Mfg. Co. made a major breakthrough in 1974 with the invention of its non-pressurized water cooling tank.
4- The T-DRILL System of mechanically formed tee connection was invented in 1967 in Finland by a plumber/engineer named Leo Larikka.
5- In 1968, Thomas Engel invented a process for producing chemically cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing
