Eleni and Christos, a couple from Thessaloniki have had numerous fresh, adventurous, and inspiring travel stories to inspire and empower other travellers. They usually choose a place, that is more adventurous, and people avoid to visit. This is the reason why they chose Southeastern Africa. Their Southeastern Africa journey starts on April 22, 2017. They had planned the complete trip on their own and had no idea of what was going to follow.
After an amazing flight, they landed in Johannesburg. They got through passport control, collected their luggage and went to the Hertz office to pick up their rental car.
They spent an entire month learning about routes they were going to take, condition of the roads, how many hours it would take to reach their South East Africa tourist destinations.
They drove at night nonstop and covered a distance of 500 km towards north, and had the chance to enjoy the first glorious African sunset of their journey. After the arrival at Musina, near the border post to Zimbabwe, the adventure lovers Eleni & Christos planned to cross the border to Zimbabwe and they searched for the trunk. They didn't get it, but they didn't lose their hope.
They found an alternative route, air tickets to Pemba in the northern part of Mozambique, a rental car to go to Malawi or to cross the border to Botswana.
On 23rd of April 2017 by 8 o'clock they had managed to finish with all the procedures and finally entered Zimbabwe. On their first day, luckily enough, they were not stopped by the police. They went directly to the Matobo NP.
Although cloudy, the weather was very pleasant and the shady colors were creating magical pictures, in an area which, in any case, is globally famous for its natural beauty.
They arrived at the White Rhino Cave, and climbed up, all the way to the high plateau. A really beautiful swimming pool, in between the rocks of the area, had an almost fairy tale beauty.
