Entrust Bankcard was founded in 2006, by Nathan Reis with only 4 other employees working out of his kitchen. Entrust now has approximately 100 employees and has experienced revenue growth of over 8500% in the past three years.
Founder and CEO, Nathan Reis is an entrepreneur who since childhood has admired the Steve Jobs, Donald Trump’s, and Richard Branson’s of the world. These men created a culture that impacts people in a positive way every day. Reis is motivated to do the same for small business and see his dream take life.
Reis was born in a small rural town in Wisconsin and grew up with good values and ethics taught to him by my single mother. He was encouraged to dream and targeted success from an early age. By the age of 24, he had become the top sales representative at the third largest bank in the country. The following years were equally fruitful, yet something was missing. He realized he was chasing someone else’s dream.
In 2006, determined to start fresh after his first entrepreneurial venture finished only six months after it began, Reis declared the white plastic table in his kitchen the new “headquarters”. Out of that pure entrepreneurial moment grew the constantly evolving organization Entrust is today. To further advance the success of his company he realized he needed “new vocabulary”. In 2010, Reis was accepted into Harvard Business School for a 3 year OPM program with 162 of the world’s top entrepreneurs to learn it.
Another key motivator is the ability to create jobs and change people’s lives. He has watched several employees grow and mature within the business. Many of Entrust’s employees went from being school teachers or telemarketers to becoming key members of management. Reis is proud to watch his employees grow and mature, knowing he impacted their lives both positively and strongly.
Entrust is a premier provider of payment processing services for small businesses. Entrust Bankcard works exclusively with small businesses to accept credit cards. Entrust is the only provider in the US to pay for merchant chargebacks.
Entrust offers complimentary services to small businesses at discount rates. Other services include ATM machines, gift cards, online shopping carts, mobile terminals, etc.
Entrust’s purpose is to bring a highly skilled, organized, efficient sales and marketing distribution channel to the small business services industry. Small businesses need face to face advice from industry experts, as well as a complete end-to-end solution provider.
In September of 2010, Entrust launched a major brand initiative to define and represent the company and its culture. The Entrust Cookbook is their recipe for success. This book defines and embraces Entrust culture, management style, mission, and promise to the customer. Additionally, the book communicates and demonstrates that Entrust is growing beyond the “bankcard” business in support of a new brand promise, “Fighting For the Small Business”.
Entrust is in the final stages of receiving $10MM of funding to fuel the growth for the company and is working towards an IPO to take the company public in Q3 of 2012.
