Ptfe film can be used in the outer protective case of the pipe, the insulation layer of electrical parts as well as the anti-sticking layer of the frying pan used for cooking, that is to say, the usages of ptfe film are extensive and diverse. Different from the imagination of people, ptfe film is not produced by the blow molding, and it is not produced by the casting process, instead, Ptfe film is a Teflon film which is cut from one cylinder roughcast.
Ptfe film belongs to the family of the fluorinated materials. PTFE film has high constant temperature feature, and ptfe film is not flammable, so it can be used as the insulation material. Among all the solid plastics, ptfe film has the lowest friction coefficient. Its durable anti-bending strength is significantly beyond that of the other two fluorinated plastics, namely, fluorinated ethylene propylene as well as hydroxyl oxy fluorinated alkyl. However, ptfe film also has shortcomings, for instance, it still has very high melt viscosity even in the case of above 327 ℃, and it has really high notch sensitivity, hence it is difficult to use the normal forming methods, like extrusion, injection molding as well as blow molding methods, to process ptfe film.
Different form the production of polyethylene film, one more work has to be undergone before the white powder changing into the thin and transparent ptfe film, that is, to press ptfe film into the pre-shaped blocks under the room temperature, and then to let these pre-shaped blocks heat till the temperature which is above the crystallization point or the melting point so as to do the sintering, so that those can condense into the insoluble sintered blocks (or roughcast).
Generally speaking, the heating temperature is better to be about 380 ℃. After sintering, the density of ptfe film will between 2.1 and 2.3g/ml in terms of its processing conditions and the produced different crystals. If the cooling process is relatively slow, the density will be relatively high. At this moment, the material will thus have high-crystal feature, high hardness as well as high-shaping stability. Sintering under pressure would make roughcast get higher density and strength, and there will be no pores, which are the prerequisites to get the ultra-thin film.
After finishing the above pre-shaped sintering, people can begin to cut the film. All the operational parts in the film-cutting device will be installed on one signal machine, while the signal machine is installed at the right frame, and it can rotate in all the directions. The machine operators can operate the machine by pressing the buttons on the controlling board of this signal machine, for instance, installing roughcast or feeding. The thickness and speed of PTFE rod are pre-determined by this controlling board. After the thickness of ptfe film and rotating numbers of roughcast are finalized, the electronic controlling machine will be automatically determining the feeding speed.
